BGAN Explorer 710
EXPLORER BGAN is a series of L-band satellite terminals utilizing the BGAN network from Inmarsat. An EXPLORER BGAN terminal offers a broadband connection and telephony service from anywhere in the world.
Every terminal features easy set-up and operation. Simply connect a PC or phone, point the terminal towards a satellite using the compass and sound indicator, and you are instantly connected from anywhere in the world.
EXPLORER 710 is the most advanced Class 1 BGAN terminal with the smallest footprint.
The Explorer 710 BGAN satellite terminal, manufactured by Cobham, supports a qualitatively new service for satellite devices streaming speeds of about 650 kbps, with a full-channel option for higher quality video transmission.
The new BGAN HDR service features full-channel streaming rates of approximately 650 kbps, which, combined with optimized codecs, improve video transmission quality. To provide the new data rates, the Inmarsat-4 satellite network is used.
Explorer 710 uses the new BGAN HDR (Higher Data Rates) service platform from the Inmarsat satellite communications system for the first time. The EXPLORER 710 also offers advanced features, including the ability to link channels from multiple terminals via Ethernet, providing IP data rates of 1 Mbit/s or even higher.
It also features a number of enhancements, including channel aggregation and smartphone connectivity. Combined with the BGAN HDR, it becomes a compact, reliable and extremely portable solution for high-speed video, audio and data transmission from virtually anywhere in the world.
The EXPLORER 710 also supports smartphone applications, allowing users to connect their handheld devices for telephone and data communication. The terminal has a large LED display, which makes connecting the device to the satellite network much easier.
